Horse Boarding at Shallowbrook Farm

Take a tour of our 3 full care boarding options...

The Stable: This center aisle design allows easy access to all areas of the barn. Seven 10x12 stalls have interlocking 3/4" thick rubber mats over stone dust for maximum drainage and cleanliness. Each stall has access to an automatic waterer. There is also a waterer outside for the horses at pasture. All are high quality Nelson Waterers that provide fresh water year round. There is also a 3 season wash stall with hot and cold water, a heated bathroom and tack room with plenty of storage space and a utility sink for cleaning tack. You'll have access to a large outdoor riding arena and many acres of lovely, private riding trails.

The services we provide are stall cleaning, twice daily grain feeding in the morning and late afternoon, plenty of hay except during grazing season when our lush pastures sustain the horses, and fly mask/blanket application.

Horses are turned out on a daily basis into extremely well-maintained pastures. We pride ourselves in our pasture management. We are careful not to overload the fields and fertilize, mow, and rotate as necessary. In the summer, the horses are out at least 16 hours a day. They are turned out in late afternoon for nighttime grazing. In the winter, the horses are out at least 12 hours a day and are turned out in the morning.

We provide a rotation of de-worming pastes for you to administer to your horse(s) at seasonal intervals. We strive to keep the horses on a proper schedule determined by required fecal egg counts once or twice a year.

The White Barn: This historic English bank barn is our original facility and where our boarding operation was started. The white barn boasts two very large run-in style stalls (approximately 14'x30') that provide ideal shelter for the horses. Inside it is cooler in the summer and a bit warmer in the winter. The horses have access to exceptionally well maintained pastures, rotated as necessary. A Nelson automatic waterer provides fresh drinking water year round. There's also a private holding stall with ajoining small private paddock for any horse needing to be confined for a period of time. There's a tack room with ample space and a dehumidifier to keep the air dry. A sheltered and lighted grooming bay where you can care for your horse in all weather.

At all our barns, we have high quality and safe PVC fencing with electric wire running around the inside of the top rail. At the white barn you will also have access to a large outdoor riding arena and many acres of lovely, private riding trails.

The services we provide are picking out of the run-ins and paddock areas daily, twice daily feedings in the morning and late afternoon, plenty of hay except during grazing season when our lush pastures sustain the horses, and fly mask/blanket application.

Like at all our barns, there's a Nelson automatic waterer that provides fresh water year round as well as a frost-free hydrant. The three horses that live here have access during the grazing months to well-maintained pasture rotated as needed.
